It has been so hot here all summer, so we took an opportunity to escape the heat and head to Colorado to visit my dad & Marcie for the week! The boys & I flew up on Monday, I was really nervous about flying alone with both boys, but they did awesome at the airport & on the flight! Dylan had flown once before when he was 2 when we went to Florida, but he didnt remember it! SO...he was so excited to fly! Their favorite part was taking off...going super fast...as Colt's says!!
silly boys waiting to board the plane!
My Dad & Marcie picked us up at the airport in Colorado Springs. On our way to the cabin we saw this awesome buck! He was so pretty!
Dad's cabin is about an hour and a half from the airport. The last 30 minutes is all dirt roads...very remote....very beautiful! I didnt get a shot of dad's cabin but here is a picture from October when they got 12" of snow.
Here is a view from his porch...where I spent a lot of time just sitting and relaxing and enjoying!!
Dad's place is obviously just big enough for him & Marcie, so we rented this cabin about a mile from them. It was so neat, the boys loved it! The people that own it keep some llamas on this property so the kids had fun checking them out everyday.
This is the cabin
These are the old barns located right next to the cabin.
Dad has lots of toys, we spent many afternoons riding through the Nat'l forest.
(Notice Colt is asleep!!)
Then we would come home and do this...it was so nice!!!
(Dad watching Phineas & Ferb with Dylan & Colt & Binx)
Colt was beat this day...he fell asleep in Pops arms while riding the ranger.
Colt drove the tractor too! He was so HAPPY!!
Here is the whole gang...Marcie & I were pushed to the back!!!
One day we went to town and visited the dinosaur museum.
Scott came in a few days later and we took a day trip to Breckenridge. It was about and hour and half drive. The drive was so pretty. They have lots of fun summer activities. We parked and rode the gondola up the mountain. Here are the boys in the gondola....
And here is the gondola we rode. The boys thought this was super cool!!!

They had a huge snow hill...in August...So FUN!!

The boys got up every morning ready to head over to Pops, so they could feed the llamas with him!
They made good ranch hands for the week.
